Ashburton – 3 classes
Mondays: 11am -1pm
Wednesdays: 11am – 1pm
Thursday: 11am – 1pm
Venue: Art and Craft Space, Ashburton Family Centre, Woodlands Road, Ashburton.
The Art and Craft Space is 100 metres down, on the right of Woodlands Road, (which is between Ark Heath Food Shop and Chinese Takeaway); it is a welcoming large art space, warm, good light, kitchen and toilet. Parking is in the town car parks, not far, and you can pull up outside the space to unload. There are steps up to the art room.
All classes are structured but also informal and fun, I have great bunches of people in all classes who all benefit from the group dynamics as well as me as teacher/facilitator. I aim to provide sessions that are a mix of technical and exact, to a bit whacky – and lots in between, all are challenging, with support. I cannot bring the land or sea in to the classroom, but all my teaching is totally transferable to your particular interest. I encourage you to look carefully at what it is you are interested in and pursue your own style and work. I have a mix of people and often teach 2, maybe 3, groups in one session – in keeping with your level. Individual attention is given to everyone. Classes run term times throughout the year. All classes payable in blocks of a term, £12 per 2 hour session. £20 deposit required. (You can pay remainder in 2 installments). You are welcome to join at anytime if I have space, prices would be pro-rata. If you would like to join a class I also send out a suggested materials list.
*I don’t just teach drawing and watercolours… While I am hot on drawing, (I can teach you to draw – and see)… you will learn to paint, experiment, play with colours and textures, learn about perspective, negative spaces, colour theory, dynamic shapes and composition to create good pictures. Mediums are primarily graphite and watercolour, but you will also work with coloured crayons, pastel, simple print making, charcoal, pen and ink, collage, acrylic, etc.
