Expressionism refers to art in which the image of reality is distorted in order to make it expressive of the artist’s inner feelings or ideas. What I am drawn to is the dance of my brush and hands, rags and pallete knives, bits of sting and other stuff I use, playing across the surface. I move around the canvas often starting on the floor, I also move around from painting to painting, never working on just one. I often find these paintings echo my mood and where I am at that moment. My work is a multitude of layers and techniques I am continually experimenting with; oh, and colour!
