Another antipodean piece. I am close to my sister, and when she first landed in New Zealand in 2000 we started to write about our weather in a brief paragraph. It made me feel a little closer to her while she was so far away. We have eight years of daily weather. The piece shown here “Weather watch, 2008” represents 2008 in a visual way. I painted small pieces of canvas in a graphic style to represent the words of our descriptions. 365 days worth, each piece of canvas was mounted on to a black painted plywood base. Here is the result. I was amazed to see the difference in colour. Guess which is England !! The pair is for sale. £4000.
